Born in Paris in 1860, Durenne would emerge as a talented post impressionist painter. In1887-1888, he studied at the Académie Julian where he met Bonnard and Vuillard. Later he met Camille Pissaro who introduced him to the renowned impressionist art dealer Durand-Ruel, who frequently exhibited Durenne in his gallery. Today many of his paintings are owned by the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, Musée des Augustins in Toulouse, Petit Palais in Genève and others museum in France and Europe.
