ALICE WEED (b) (Mass., 20th Century) ALICE WEED (Mass., 20th Century) Alice Weed was born in Boston. She was a student at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Massachusetts School of Art and the Fenway Studios. She studied with Emile Gruppe, Stanley Woodard and Sears Gallagher. Like her mentors, She became best known for landscapes and seascapes in the impressionist style of the Cape Ann School. She was a member of the Rockport Art Association, the North Shore Arts Association and the Copley Society-Boston and Sharon Arts Center, N.H. She taught art in Wellesley, Massachusetts and summered on Cape Ann. She had numerous solo and group shows at galleries throughout New England.
