Charles E. Willette studied at the Arts Students League in the mid-1930’s with Raphael Soyer, Morris Cantor, and Robert Brackman.  He was the chief commercial artist for Whelan Drug Company in New York City.  Later, he lived in Maine where he painted scenes of his native state.   He was a member of the Waldo Maine County Artists.  Willette exhibited at the Ross Art Gallery, Newark, NJ (1949), Maine State House in Augusta (1949), Arthur U. Newton Galeries, NYC (1949), and Opus 71 Gallery, Hollis, NH.
